I’m a licensed architect working on higher-education projects at Calvert Wright Architecture | Spatial Discipline, and am currently working on master planning and renovation work in historic buildings in urban settings. I’ve previously worked on ground up and renovation work across a variety of project types including multi-family housing, affordable housing, mixed-use buildings, fabrication shops and single-family homes. I’ve been privileged to work in New York, Washington DC and Chicago, and to study in Chicago (community college), Washington DC and Barcelona (BS Arch at Catholic University) and Philadelphia (M.Arch at UPenn).
I am interested in bridging the gap between the architectural profession and the broader community through artwork and public installations. I enjoy photography and its ability to flatten and re-contextualize urban vignettes, and am very interested in North African architecture and urbanism (K’sours and medinas) as well as informal urbanism more broadly.
I am a dual citizen of the United States and Algeria, and share my young son’s fascination with the New York transit system and my wife’s deep appreciation of and interest in New York City’s great civic parks. We live in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, and enjoy exploring every part of Prospect Park and the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens.
